		<description><![CDATA[Excellent article and analogy, Doug. I guess the important thing about being a barrier deliberately is that you explain to people WHY -- and stick to your guns. I&#039;ve certainly been in the position of having to hold people back in order to make sure all the foundations are in place, or to prevent chaos down the line.
For example, it may be that a particular subject area wishes to install a certain software application, but the ICt Co-ordinator knows it will be more accessible to more people, and run more smoothly, if a different version is installed, but before that can be done an upgrade to the OS is required, which can&#039;t take place until the summer break. etc etc. Like the old Chinese saying goes, we must sometimes learn to make haste slowly.]]></description>
